Dunedin City Council has been blown away by the level of support for its Matariki event

Dunedin City Council has been blown away by the level of support for its Matariki event

Mana Moana drew an estimated 20-thousand people to the city's waterfront over the long weekend.

Council general manager of Maori, partnerships and policy Jeanette Wikaira says more people turned up for the opening night than for the entire week Mana Moana was on Wellington's waterfront.

She says it's a huge vote of confidence from the Dunedin public and they can't wait till next year.
