An experienced teacher who avoided conviction for criminal offending is now fighting to keep her job

An experienced teacher who avoided conviction for criminal offending is now fighting to keep her job

The Herald's Open Justice reports the woman was discharged without conviction on charges that amounted to serious misconduct two years ago.

The judge said the consequences would've been out of proportion to the gravity of the offending.

She appeared before the Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal this week, which suppressed her name and the nature of what she had done.

The tribunal would release its decision in due course.
