The Post Primary Teachers' Association is recognising the Government's changes to the Equal Pay Act

The Post Primary Teachers' Association is recognising the Government's changes to the Equal Pay Act

It's polling members to see if they want to lodge an additional pay claim, in upcoming collective agreement negotiations.

President Chris Abercrombie says secondary teachers will be prevented from making pay equity claims, as their workforce no longer meets the threshold, upped from 60-percent women to 70.

He says an additional pay claim will recognise the process is no longer available to them, because of the changes steamrolled through Parliament.
