Potential traces of salmonella has forced a recall of 'Deep' brand's Green Garlic

Potential traces of salmonella has forced a recall of 'Deep' brand's Green Garlic

The batch, sold at ethnic supermarkets around the country, has a use-by date of November 29.

New Zealand Food Safety deputy director-general Vincent Arbuckle says affected batches can be refunded or thrown out - and they should not be consumed unless cooked all the way through.

The green garlic joins three other Deep brand items recalled last month.
