A divide on whether or not Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown, should be attending mayoral debates

A divide on whether or not Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown, should be attending mayoral debates

Brown's been accused of dodging them, although he did participate in a Grey Power 'meet the candidates' event on the North Shore.

Opponent and current councillor Kerrin Leoni, says it's not acceptable, he's not turning up.

Leoni says she's been accessible to the public, which is what Aucklanders want.

But Wayne Brown says voters have plenty of chances to hear his views in the media, and during council meetings.

He says he doesn't want to sit in cold, half filled church halls, with 11 other people who want his job.
