The Silver Ferns are determined not to let a fourth quarter lapse snowball following their heavy Constellation Cup defeat to Australia in Melbourne

New Zealand were beaten by 17 goals, magnified by a sloppy final period where they lost the quarter 24-11.

McCausland-Durie says they know three good quarters doesn't count for much if they fall away like they did.

Game two is in Sydney on Wednesday.
