Billie Lourd has paid tribute to her grandmother Debbie Reynolds on the ninth anniversary of her death

On Sunday (28.12.25), the actress shared a sweet early 2000s photo of her with late mom Carrie Fisher and the Hollywood legend - who died from a stroke aged 84, the day after Carrie passed away from a sudden cardiac arrest aged 60 on December 27, 2016 - at The Radio City Christmas Show, Universal City, California.

Billie captioned the Instagram post with a series of emojis that seemingly reference the star's nickname for her grandmother: "Abadaba."

Billie's followers then left their memories of Debbie - who also has a son called Todd Fisher, 67, with her late ex-husband, singer-and-actor Eddie Fisher - in the post's comments section.

One user penned: "I'll never forget telling you that your grandma had inspired me to become an actress and you beaming with pride responding 'Really? Same!'

"Such a beautiful family of truly iconic inspiring women. (sic)"

Another person wrote: "Ever since I saw Halloweentown I thought your grandmother was so much like my own, and after losing mine a few years back, putting on any movie with yours in it makes me feel like we're enjoying the movie together somehow. Sending love in this new year (sic)."

And a third fan typed: "Watched your grandma on an episode of Laugh-In yesterday. She was incredibly game for anything, which is something I always loved about her. I hope your Christmas was great."

On Saturday (27.12.25), Billie paid tribute to her mom Carrie - who died four days after she experienced a medical emergency during a flight from London to Los Angeles on December 23 - on Instagram.

The American Horror Story alum said the Star Wars icon "lives on through the joy" she has with her and 33-year-old husband, actor Austen Rydell's children - son Kingston, five, and three-year-old daughter Jackson.

And Billie - the only child Carrie had with her 65-year-old ex-partner, talent agent Bryan Lourd - ended her emotional tribute by writing that the Princess Leia actress' legacy will forever continue.

The Last Showgirl star wrote: "As my mom wisely said, 'Nothing is ever really over. Just over there'.

"My mombys life isnt really over. Just over there - in my kids and in this joy I'm able to experience because of her. Thank you momby. I will never stop missing you. (sic)"
