Tom Walsh has changed tack ahead of the final months of the track and field season

The men's world shot put champion has spent a couple of weeks at home in Christchurch, experiencing his first New Zealand winter in eight years.

Walsh is usually at his US base at this time of year, but says he needed to get some decent gym work in.



Tom Walsh will compete in the Diamond League meet in Lausanne tomorrow morning, along with Olympic pole vault bronze medallist Eliza McCartney.
