    Sam Ward and Tayler Reid have shown why they are the preferred option by Triathlon New Zealand for the men's spots in the teams events


    The pair have beaten Ryan Sissons in the individual ITU event in Edmonton.

    Ward has finished 10th, Reid was 23rd, while Sissons came home 29th.

    In the women's race Andrea Hewitt has produced one of her best performances of the season with a seventh, while other Kiwi hope Nicole van der Klaay didn't finish.
