    Fonterra is reducing carbon dioxide emissions at one of its South Island factories

    The Brightwater dairy factory in Nelson has converted its existing coal burner to also burn wood biomass.

    Minister of Energy and Resources Dr Megan Woods today officially switched on the converter boiler.

    The move will cut emissions by about two thousand 400 tonnes a year - roughly the same as taking 530 cars off the road.
