It's hoped new rules will help stamp out sexual harassment and bullying in the legal profession

The Law Society's proposing a raft of changes - after a review identifying a range of problems.

It says it will require high standards from lawyers around sexual harassment, bullying, discrimination and other unacceptable behaviour.

It's also proposing a specific prohibition on victimisation of people who report unacceptable behaviour in good faith.

The Society is proposing a specialised process for complaints, and changes to its Disciplinary Tribunal procedures.

It also wants to introduce a more flexible, two-stage approach to confidentiality for complaints of sexual harassment and bullying.
