The pair, from Canterbury, are alleged to have stolen a vehicle in Wigram on Thursday.
Police tried to stop the vehicle in Invercargill shortly after 8 that evening and when the driver didn't stop, they followed for a short time.
The chase was soon abandoned because of the erratic driving of the fleeing car.
The stolen vehicle was spotted by Police travelling north near Mataura around 1.30 this afternoon.
Despite trying to evade them, Police stopped the vehicle leaving Riverton.
Two men, one aged 17 and the other 18, have been arrested and will be appearing in Invercargill District Court on Monday.
