The New Zealand fast bowler missed the final round robin defeat to England yesterday in Durham with a tight left hamstring.
That was a blow to the Black Caps, given he has the second-equal most wickets at the tournament with 17.
Ferguson's expecting to employ a similar strategy at a venue which netted him figures of three for 59 against the West Indies.
He says the Manchester ground has wide square boundaries which means, if you bang the ball in short, it can pop up for catches in the open space.
