NZ cricket captain adjusting to life post-World Cup, but now off again for test and twenty20 tour in Sri Lanka
New Zealand cricket captain Kane Williamson is adjusting to life post-World Cup, but packs his suitcase again on Friday ready to fly out for the test and twenty20 tour to Sri Lanka
29 July 2019
The Black Caps have picked a spin-heavy 15-man squad, featuring the quartet of Mitchell Santner, Todd Astle, Ajaz Patel and Will Somerville.
Williamson expects to get one opportunity to jump on his surfboard at Mt Maunganui beach before he leaves.
He says the weather's been chillier than he expected given they don't spend much time at home during winter normally, but he's psyching up to hit the waves tomorrow.
Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner and Colin de Grandhomme are the pace bowling options in the test squad, while Tom Blundell will act as wicket-keeping and batting cover.
