A view the Supreme Court bid to clear Peter Ellis will go ahead despite his death

The convicted child sex offender died yesterday, two months before the court had scheduled to hear his appeal.
He's always maintained his innocence, despite being found guilty of abusing children at a Christchurch creche in 1993.
Massey University professor Chris Gallavin says the Supreme Court was well aware of Ellis' health condition.
He says the court anticipated he might not survive until they heard the case and made the unusual move of saying that wouldn't be an impediment.
