The officers who arrested the Christchurch Mosque shooter can finally move on with their lives

The officers who arrested the Christchurch Mosque shooter can finally move on with their lives

In a surprise High Court hearing today - Brenton Tarrant pleaded guilty to 51 charges of murder, 40 of attempted murder, and one of terrorism.

After attacks on two mosques on March 15 last year - Tarrant was taken down by Senior Constable Jim Manning and Senior Constable Scott Carmody following a car chase.

Police Association President Chris Cahill says they're very relieved.

He says trials can be an ordeal for officers - and that's no longer hanging over their heads.
