More than 6.6 million Americans applied for unemployment benefits last week in the midst of Covid-19

The figure is double that of the week before.
Many economists are predicting up to 20 million job losses by the end of this month.
And the unemployment rate could spike to as high as 15 per cent this month, above the previous record of nearly 11 per cent in 1982.
