Police are warning a teenager on the run is dangerous and should not be approached

Police are warning a teenager on the run is dangerous and should not be approached

Haami Hanara was jailed for life when he was only 14 for brutally murdering a Flaxmere man.

The jury in his High Court trial heard Hanara stabbed 40 year-old Kelly Donner four times with a knife, in March 2018.

Mr Donner was left to die alone, in a pool of his own blood.

The Herald has found out Haami Hanara has been on the run since Friday when he took off from Korowai Manaaki, an Oranga Tamariki-run facility in South Auckland.

He escaped with another youth offender.

Anyone with information is asked to call 111.
