The Director-General of Health denies the public was misled about flu vaccine distribution

The Director-General of Health denies the public was misled about flu vaccine distribution

The Ministry of Health has released two reports into this year's flu campaign, and last year's measles outbreak in Auckland.

The report on the influenza vaccine supply chain says the programme successfully sourced the required volume, but had challenges to supply and distribution.

Dr Ashley Bloomfield says the Health Ministry stepped in once it was made aware of distribution issues.

He says issues around vaccines being unavailable were made clear at the daily Covid-19 briefings - and what they were doing about it.

Today, New Zealand has another Covid-19 death, taking the country's toll to 25.

One new case of the virus has been detected in MIQ - a woman in her 30s, who arrived from Dubai on September 9.
