Frankie Bridge was left terrified after her son was rushed to hospital with croup

The 31-year-old star - who has Parker, six, and Carter, five, with husband Wayne Bridge - took her eldest child to A&E after he was left struggling to breathe due to the illness

She shared a photo on Instagram Story of Parker sleeping on her on Thursday (14.10.20) and wrote: "Was in A&E last night with this little guy, with yet another croup attack. Doesn't matter how many times it happens. To see someone gasping for air is always terrifying.

"Breaks my heart. But he's absolutely fine now, all just very sleepy.(sic)"

And it wasn't only Parker's croup - which causes a barking cough and affects the windpipe, airways to the lungs and the voice box - that left Frankie struggling to catch enough sleep as her younger son was up and ready for the day early in the morning.

She also shared a photo of Carter and wrote: "This guy however slept all night. Had no idea what happened. So has me up after three hours and is full of beans.(sic)"

The former Saturdays star later admitted she was feeling the affects of her sleepless night.

Looking drowsy, she wrote: "One very tired, emotionally drained mummy (sic)"

It isn't the first time Parker has been taken to hospital due to the condition, as in November 2017, Frankie had to miss the ITV Gala due to a hospital trip with the youngster.

She shared on Instagram at the time: "The face of a proud emotionally drained Mum who’s child has been really poorly and scared her half to death and a child who is the prime example of how well and quickly they bounce back.

"This little man is so full of love and this surprise hug felt more amazing than he will ever know... not sure who was looking after who...?

"No ITV gala for this mumma tonight. All home now so cuddles and Christmas movies are the order of the day. Croup is not our friend. #family #love #son #mum #nhs.(sic)"
