South Sydney's woes in preliminary finals has continued

The Rabbitohs have lost to the Penrith Panthers 20-16, to fall a game short of the grand final for the third straight year.

They are the first team to lose at that stage three times in a row since Parramatta between 1998 and 2000.

Halfback Adam Reynolds says it's a tough time to exit the competition.
