The housing market is continuing to defy expectations on the back of the nationwide lockdown

The latest Real Estate Institute figures show Auckland's median house price has surpassed the million dollar mark for the first time ever.
It's risen 16 point 3 percent in just a year.
Institute chief executive Bindi Norwell says the rise is across the country, with ten regions seeing record median prices in October.
She says there's a number of factors supporting the housing market at the moment - but we don't want prices to go up to much.
Norwell says we want long term stability rather than unaffordability.
