Tauranga City Council is reminding residents water restrictions persist - despite some overnight rain

Tauranga City Council is reminding residents water restrictions persist - despite some overnight rain

Current restrictions include a ban on sprinklers and irrigation systems.

People can still water carefully by hand between 5 and 8am, and 7 and 10pm.

Director of City Waters Stephen Burton says it's essential everyone does their bit to keep the demand manageable.

He says if use remains high, the next step would be an outdoor hose ban.
