Supermarket sales figures show during the month to 27 December nearly 2.5 million dollars worth of ice cream was sold.
It's an increase of 3.4 percent in dollar sales compared to the same period in 2019.
Appleby Farms CEO and Ice Cream Manufactures Association's Mike Brown says its common to see a rise in sales during that time.
He says people are entertaining more and tend to need a desert which often will be ice cream.
