Environment Canterbury is calling on the public to make submissions on a draft for the Regional Land Transport Plan.
Over the next 10 years, the plan will guide 5.5 billion dollars worth of transport planning and investment.
ECan councillor Peter Scott says it's vital people share their ideas and concerns.
He says this is particularly important given ongoing issues around climate change and sustainability.
Scott says the region's expected to grow by another 200 hundred thousand in the next 20 years.
