Border workers in Auckland were the first in New Zealand to get the jab yesterday.
More than 12-thousand at-risk frontline staff hope to be immunised over the next few weeks.
Vaccinations for the general public aren't expected to begin until after June.
Otago University Bioethics expert Angela Ballantyne says in the meantime, people should do research.
She says some of the questions which keep popping up around safety, efficacy and how quickly the vaccine was developed.
