Confirmation travelling Aucklanders are being checked

Confirmation travelling Aucklanders are being checked

    Auckland Airport
    Auckland Airport
With the city in alert level 3, only essential workers are allowed to leave.

However a Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson says aviation security staff have been stationed at the doors of Auckland Airport - to ensure people have a valid reason for flying.

They say staff are also stationed at departure gates - or screening points - of Auckland-bound flights at other airports.

The spokesperson says checks can include a look at documents the passenger has to confirm their eligibility to travel.
