    The 16 inmates involved in riot at Waikeria prison over the New Year Period are taking legal action


    The Maori Party has revealed the prisoners have each filed claims against the Attorney-General and the Chief Executive of Corrections.

    Co-leader Rawiri Waititi says in court the prisoners will tell their stories of inhumane treatment.

    He says the water quality is shocking, they were not given clean bedding and they had to wash their clothes in the shower.
