    It's been a tough week for many farmers across Canterbury

    The big deluge struck Mid Canterbury hard - especially country roads and farmland either side of the Ashburton and Hinds rivers.

    Fonterra Chief Financial Officer Marc Rivers says their emergency response team has been checking up on farmers around the region.

    He says so far they've identified 30 farms that need assistance and repairs.
