A strain of salmonella's been detected at a seventh poultry farm -- after months-long testing by the Ministry for Primary Industries.
MPI food regulation director, Paul Dansted says the bug was first discovered in March.
It was the first time 'Salmonella Enteritidis' has been found in New Zealand's commercial poultry flocks.
Dansted says they're giving consumers advice, as a precaution.
He recommends putting eggs in the fridge, keeping your kitchen environment clean, and cooking eggs thoroughly.
While the cases are genomically linked -- the farms are not connected.
