Community testing for Covid-19's in full force in the capital

Community testing for Covid-19's in full force in the capital

    Wellington Airport
    Wellington Airport
A Sydney tourist with the virus visited Wellington over the weekend - and the city is now at Alert Level Two.

Testing centres are operating in the CBD on Taranaki Street, in Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and at the Johnsonville Medical Centre.

Capital and Coast DHB says the Taranaki Street site is fully booked today.

An extra station is operating at Tauranga's Baypark Stadium, as two residents are deemed close contacts.

The pair have since tested negative.

Exposure sites include the Wellington Airport food court from 9.30am to 9.55am on Monday, and Te Papa from 3pm to 5.45pm Saturday.

Anyone who was there is asked to isolate at home and get tested about five days after the time of exposure.

All other people who visited the airport from 8.30am to 10.30am should get tested if they develop symptoms.
