The Wellington Saints are National Basketball League champions after a nail-biting 77-75 victory over the Hawke's Bay Hawks in the final in Porirua

The Hawks erased an early 12-point deficit to take a 60-56 lead after three quarters, before a back and forth final 10 minutes saw the Saints sneak home by two points.

Wellington captain Dion Prewster says their ability to come back and take the win was all about resilience.

    Prewster finished with 15 points.

It's the Saints seventh title in 12 years.
