A man's been arrested after an armed hold-up near Napier

A man's been arrested after an armed hold-up near Napier

Police were called to the convenience store in Puketapu, west of the city, just after 5 last evening

The offender allegedly threatened the sole employee with a knife, before leaving in a vehicle with a number of stolen items.

Officers quickly found the vehicle, which had been abandoned in Flaxmere.

An officer chased the man on foot and took him into custody.

The 25-year-old man's due to appear at the Hastings District Court tomorrow, charged with aggravated robbery.
