Auckland's lockdown is costing Canterbury a million dollars a day

Auckland's lockdown is costing Canterbury a million dollars a day

Everywhere south of Auckland goes into Level 3 at midnight.

Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce CEO Leeann Watson says some businesses can open up again, but others won't.

She says every day Auckland remains in Level Four, hurts the local economy.

Watson says the 2020 Lockdown showed that Christchurch was losing 850 thousand dollars a day without Auckland travellers.
