    Recapping the main points from today's Covid update


    There are just 28 new community cases

    27 of those are in Auckland and one in Wellington.

    The one in Wellington is a close contact of an existing case and has been isolating.

    Today's numbers bring our total number in this outbreak to 764 - but 33 are now recovered meaning we have 731 active cases.

    The number of cases not yet linked to this outbreak has dropped fro 65 to 31.

    The Director of Public Health Dr Caroline McElnay says today's fall in new cases is encouraging but she warns such outbreaks can have a long tail and we still need to be vigilant.

    Forty-three Covid patients are in hospital - nine are in ICU.
