About one per cent of people stopped at Auckland's checkpoints, are being turned around

About one per cent of people stopped at Auckland's checkpoints, are being turned around

More than 117-thousand vehicles have been stopped at 10 checkpoints north and south of the city.

Police say there's been high compliance -- but some are still trying to squeeze in non-approved travel.

Yesterday a man produced paperwork for transporting goods - but was using his exemption for personal reasons after buying a boat.

He was issued an infringement notice.
