Wild weather's hampered searchers looking for a missing Otorohanga family

Wild weather's hampered searchers looking for a missing Otorohanga family

Thomas Phillips and children Jayda, Maverick and Ember were last seen on Saturday, at Waikato's Marokopa, and Phillips' abandoned Toyota Hilux was found at Kiritehere Beach on Sunday.

Herald reporter Belinda Feek says it was windy, cold and wet at Kiritehere today.

She says it's mainly been a ground search - but drones also went up.

Phillips' uncle Paul says the family is hoping the four went camping - but also fear they could have been swept off the beach by wild seas.
