Scott Dixon's chances of defending his Indycar title are looking bleak

Scott Dixon's chances of defending his Indycar title are looking bleak

He sits 10th after 45 of 95 laps in this morning's penultimate race of the season in Monterey , California.

The Chip Ganassi driver is fourth in the standings and effectively needs to win and see his rivals - teammate Alex Palou , Pato O'Ward and Josef Newgarden - struggle.

All three are ahead of him.

At this point, even a win in the final race wouldn't be enough for Dixon to secure the title.
