Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says the public health unit hasn't been able to contact the case since the result came through.
Police have been called in to find the Mangere woman and have been directed to take her straight to the Jet Park quarantine facility when they do.
The woman is gang-connected and has been the subject of a number of public appeals this year to locate her for alleged criminal offending.
A source told the Herald she was known to be resistant to police.
