The man convicted over the murder of Christchurch sex worker says he can finally sleep

Mauha Fawcett was found guilty of the murder of Mellory Manning and sentenced to 20 years in jail in 2014.

But today, at the Christchurch High Court Justice Rachel Dunningham granted the application to dismiss the charge.

It was found his Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder meant his admissions in police interviews were inadmissible.

His lawyer Chris Stevenson says Fawcett's had about a decade of his life taken away, so he's just relieved and happy it's all over.
