The vaccination rate has shot up in the Gloriavale area over the past week

The vaccination rate has shot up in the Gloriavale area over the past week

The area the community is located in has had the biggest jump for first doses of any area nationwide in the past week.

Numbers in Lake Brunner's eligible population has grown from 343 to 452 since last week.

It's after reports Gloriavale's teachers and midwives had their first dose to meet vaccine mandates.

Meanwhile, Aranui is no longer Canterbury's lowest vaccinated suburb.

Ministry of Health data has shown the Waimakariri's district's Ashley Gorge has the lowest rate with 79.3 per cent of residents having their first dose.

Aranui sits at 79.6 per cent.
