Stand-in New Zealand test cricket captain Tom Latham is imploring his bowlers to make the difference to level their two-match series with Bangladesh

Stand-in New Zealand test cricket captain Tom Latham is imploring his bowlers to make the difference to level their two-match series with Bangladesh

After the visitors went 1-nil up in Mount Maunganui, the second test starts in Christchurch today on a green pitch, which could see the hosts opt for blanket pace by including Daryl Mitchell for spinner Rachin Ravindra as the all-rounder option.

Latham believes they can conquer by using the Hagley Oval conditions to their advantage.

Fine weather is forecast with a steady westerly breeze.

Bangladesh have only won one two-test series away from home - against the West Indies in 2009.

The Tigers have won the toss, and have sent the Black Caps in to bat.

The match is just getting underway.
