The Finance Minister says the wage subsidy's unlikely to return for businesses hit by Omicron

The Finance Minister says the wage subsidy's unlikely to return for businesses hit by Omicron

Rather... Grant Robertson says Government support is available through the leave support programme.

That scheme is focused on ensuring people are still paid while they're isolating.

But Robertson isn't entirely ruling out bringing back the wage subsidy if Omicron hits harder than expected.

He says obviously the Government will continue to monitor the impacts and if they were more severe than expected... he might start looking at other measure previously used.
