Road cyclist Egan Bernal remains in intensive care in Colombia after undergoing two successful surgeries but his 2022 season may already be over

The 2019 Tour de France and 2021 Giro d'Italia champion collided at speed with a parked bus while training.

His Ineos Grenadiers team have confirmed he fractured his right femur, right kneecap, several ribs and a vertebrae and suffered a punctured lung and chest trauma.

Bernal is now in an intensive care unit post-surgery where other injuries are being managed.
