91 is almost three dollars a litre, with Jacinda Ardern blaming the tough international market.
Meanwhile, diesel has had the biggest lift, up 17 cents in just a month.
In a couple of days, service stations will be required to advertise the standard price of all fuel grades.
AA Fuel Spokesperson Terry Collins says ballooning prices affect every part of the economy.
He says that includes horticulture, agriculture ... which use tractors and excavators ... and even diesel trucks which cart our goods around.
