Aucklanders can have their say on phase three of proposed safe speed limits
Aucklanders can have their say on phase three of proposed safe speed limits
1 March 2022
The Auckland Transport project sets out to reduce speeds on more than 16-hundred roads in Auckland, including residential and high-risk rural areas -- and roads near marae.
Nine hundred and 80 roads are near 82 schools identified for speed reductions.
Some proposals include 30 kilometre per hour speed limits for the Devonport, Takapuna and Glen Innes town centres.
Auckland Transport Chief Executive Shane Ellison is urging people to think about their whanau out on the road every day -- as we head into this next phase.
The five-week public consultation on the speed limits is now open, with public hearings set for April 7.
