Consultation on Auckland Council's draft Regional Parks Management Plan closes today

One of the submitters so far is Federated Mountain Clubs.

It says there's a number of proposals aimed at managing congested tracks - including one way tracks, track charges and for new tracks favouring loops over through walks.

President Jan Finlayson says that's only part of the answer -- we need more tracks, and a greater variety.

Hearings for submissions on the plan will be held in May before a revised version will be put forward for adoption later in the year.
