Canterbury appears to be the new epicentre of the Omicron outbreak

Canterbury appears to be the new epicentre of the Omicron outbreak

While Auckland is continuing to record more hospitalisations, Canterbury has almost three times the rate of new Covid infections.

More than four out of five Canterbury schools now have cases.

Canterbury Primary Principals' Association president Sandy Hastings says the upcoming school holidays will hopefully give everyone a break.

She says for some learning has been disrupted multiple times after they've become a household contact.
