    Payne Haas has been denied a request for an immediate release from his Brisbane NRL league contract

    The parties are in a stand-off after negotiations stalled.

    Rival clubs are keen to bid for his services, so Haas has been agitating for an upgrade to his current deal that runs until 2024.

    He will play for the Broncos against Gold Coast tonight.
