Grant Robertson's not worried a Labour MP who's campaigning to be Wellington's mayor is neglecting his constituency

Grant Robertson's not worried a Labour MP who's campaigning to be Wellington's mayor is neglecting his constituency

Rongotai MP Paul Eagle announced his Mayoral bid yesterday... and received Labour's backing.

He is now campaigning to be Mayor... as well as being an MP.

But Acting Prime Minister Robertson says this is not without precedent.

He says Phil Goff, Christine Fletcher and Jim Anderton all did the same, or something similar.

Robertson understands Eagle will take three months leave from July 8, and donate his parliamentary salary to charity.

Eagle intends to continue to provide constituency services.
